I was initially ready to tell the story of how at 13 years old I decided to follow an Architectural career while still in catholic grammar school. I promised to do that next, but I first wanted to talk about “Trust” in the field of architecture. Most Architects will say they want to meet their client’s functional program, budget and aesthetic concerns. That is true, but what we really need to first do is earn our client’s trust. Their trust in our decision making. Their trust in our experience. Their trust in our inner core beliefs and our empathy for their situation and goals.
